There have been a few references to chocolate and cocoa powder.
I am not trying to be a controlling person but the diet as given to me by
the doctor who developed it (Dr. Sidney V. Haas) said they were illegal.
Since this diet has performed miracles (see www.amazon.com) and read the
continuous flow of testimonies on the list), I don’t understand why some of
you are trying to tweak it.

Dear Marilyn
The writer asks questions and some of these are answered on the website BTVC
under FAQ’s. I don’t have time to go into detail but his attitude sounds
as tho he should be on the diet and doesn’t want to. Most of the illegals
he asks about have nothing to do with carbohydrates but with the fact
that there are other things in the items he questions that just aren’t good
for sick people. : Here are his questions and I call it “tweaking the
diet.”
But looking at the sidebar, there are some things that just don’t make
sense. Is there any carbohydrate in margarine? Unsweetened chocolate? I
don’t have the composition before me, but so far as I know both are almost
pure fat.
Answer
True, but the analysis of chocolate shows that there are many other
chemicals in it and the original advice given to me was not to include
chocolate.
Answer: yes, there is carbohydrate in most margarines and furthermore they
are filled with trans fatty acids which aren’t good for people.
the alcohol situation is even stranger.
You can have any dry
wine except sherry. Why is sherry different? And if you take that dry wine
Answer: Although one can get a dry sherry, most sherries are are sweetened.
and distill it into brandy, it becomes illegal
Yes, brandy has a higher alcoholic content than most ryes and regular
whiskey
content, because other distilled liquors are perfectly legal. What’s going
on?”
Don’t you think a person who says “what’s going on” is acting a bit hostile?

Can anyone assist me in answering these questions suitable for a medical
writer?
