Dear Jan,
I juice on a regular basis. I do not know how people with IBDwould fare on
fresh raw vegetable juices. ~I imagine that after they are on SCD for a
while and can add foods regularly and continue to improve, well, I think
that juicing can only be good.
I do not know much about the enzymes of the plant in things like carrots,
celery, etc. assisting us in our digestion. I juice because I do not eat
sufficient vegetables and I know I am lacking minerals such as magnesium,
etc.
For example, I use the outer leaves (well washed) of romaine lettuce and
when that green liquid comes out of the juicer, I see chlorophyll with its
great amount of magnesium.
By the way, Lucy has the best juicer I have ever seen. I had one that cost a
mint and weighed a ton. I have hers now and it is relatively inexpensive
and is easy to use and clean.
