We have found that when antibiotics are necessary, take them.
Just eat your wonderful yogurt and take your acidophilus probiotic. I keep forgetting if the probiotic should be taken before the antibiotic or after it. I think BEFORE. Why? Well, it is a matter of who takes over the territory. If the antibiotic encourages pathological mutated antibiotic-resistant bacteria, perhaps if the territory is covered with good guys – defenders of the territory (the area of the intestinal surface) – it would protect you. After all it is easier to prevent then to wait until the resistant type of pathological bacteria appear and then try to knock them out of the territory. Maybe, however, my reasoning is faulty????
